7ae17ce0eeb7376e89094ca1a15d5331Whew! It’s been a whirlwind year so far, and I am down to 4 more convention appearance this year. I’ll be at StocktonCon this weekend. If you’re in the Bay Area, definitely come check out the con. It’s one of my favorite local shows!

Unfortunately, I won’t have any Mind Palace swag at this show– we’ve been focusing our energies on staying on deadline, but I will have a few Fullery surprises as I close out my 3 remaining shows. Come see me at:

NEW YORK COMIC CON– New York, NY (OCT 4-7), AFRO COMIC CON– Oakland, CA (OCT 20-21), and NC COMICON: BULL CITY– Durham, NC (NOV 10-12).

ITEM! Double Jumpers RETURNS!

by ddwonch73 on August 15, 2018 at 11:06 am
Posted In: Uncategorized

Some of you know that I’ve been making comics since 2005, starting with a book called Special Education, and a webcomic called Space-Time Condominium. By 2010-11 I had founded Action Lab Entertainment with a handful of like-minded creators, and  we launched my first “big” book, Double Jumpers, on the heels of the Eisner-nominated Princeless.DJ_V1_1_SOLICIT

The premise is REALLY fun:

“After Jason and his team of programmers get stuck in their virtual reality game, Dungeon Lords, they must find a way back to the real world. Unknown to them, the fantasy characters they inhabit have taken control of their bodies — and now wizards and warriors run free in Las Vegas!”

The book gained critical acclaim… and then I got busy. Running a company is time consuming , and while I always intended to return to the project (read that last page!) I could never seem to get the ball rolling on it.Fast forward almost eight years: I’ve written a TON of great books including Cyrus Perkins and the Haunted Taxi Cab, Infinite Seven, Prom of the Dead, and co-written the Vamplets series of hardcovers.

I also moved on from running Action Lab, which freed up enough time to find a new creative team for the eventual Double Jumpers sequel while building my library and developing Mind Palace.Well, I’m happy to say the day is here for fans, new DJ2_CJ1_CVR_A_WEBand old alike, to read the continuing adventures of Jason and his team of misfit videogame programmers.

Be prepared for things to come full circle in Double Jumpers: Full Circle Jerks! The first issue will be released nationwide in the coming weeks, but is available now on Comixology, along with a special one-shot that bridges the gap between Volume One and Volume Two called Double Jumpers: The Dark Backwards.

It’s been a long time coming, but I’m excited to be working with artist Sergio Rios on the new series. We met for the first time a few weeks back at SDCC and I couldn’t ask for a sweeter, talented person to be partnering on the book with.

Read all of Double Jumpers digitally HERE, or head into your local comic shop and order yourselves the fancy print versions. See you tomorrow with a new page of MIND PALACE!

49 years ago, the world gave us Bryan Fuller. Without Bryan’s seemingly limitless genius, Mind Palace would never exist, and we’re celebrating in the weirdest way possible. Here in full glory is Wendigo-Bryan. We hope you enjoy the birthday suit, Mr. Fuller!

Patreon Giveaways, Advance pages, and MORE!

by ddwonch73 on July 25, 2018 at 5:00 am
Posted In: Uncategorized

Hi All!

Thanks for an AMAZING launch week. We debuted the first 7 pages over the course of SDCC Preview Night, and by Thursday the site was in a frenzy! It was GREAT touching base with the Fannibal/Fullerverse community over the long weekend, and we’re feeling even more inspired to keep this going!

While this is a labor of love, we’ve launched a Patreon to help Santi stay focused and on schedule. All of the proceeds will go to him so he can devote his artistic time solely to Mind Palace.

What does that mean to you? Well, our $400 goal will allow Santi to produce 8 pages of MP per month, and carve out additional cash for Ludwig, our color flatter. Having Ludwig on board helps me to stay on schedule with the finished colors, lettering and scripting. Any monies above and beyond the $400 goal will be set aside for additional pages and special goodies we’ll be creating for this, ahem, hungry fan base.

To that end, the Patreon will feature exclusive content like scripts, sketches, and top secret emails between Santi and I, as well as advance release pages (page 8 is already posted, with 9 posting this Thursday!).

OH! And Patrons that contribute $20 or more will automatically be entered into our quarterly raffle. I’ll let the cat out of the bag on this one– the first giveaway is a signed photo autographed by Bryan Fuller himself! Head over to https://www.patreon.com/MindPalace and get in on the action! The first prize drawing will be on October 31st, and Patrons that donate monthly (more than once) will have an equal amount of “names in the hat.” It’s a great time to be a fan of Mind Palace and the entire Fullerverse!

Cheers,

Dave

24 Hours ’til the launch of Mind Palace!

A VERY big thanks to everyone who has rallied behind Mind Palace this week. I wasn’t prepared for the support this early on from the Fannibal community.

This is truly a labor of love for Santi and I, and it warms our hearts to see such passionate fans propping us up. You are all the best!

Mind Palace aims to be a celebration of ALL of Bryan Fuller’s creations, and without spoiling tooo much, you’re going to see a lot of familiar friends throughout.

Stay tuned for tomorrow’s launch!

Cheers,

D
